terms of service

these are the rules for using seam, and i tried to keep them short and actually readable. if you add seam to a server or use any of its commands you're agreeing to these and to the privacy policy, and if you don't agree that's totally fine, just don't use seam.

what seam is

seam is a free discord bot themed on deltarune with a shop, items, a passport, chat levels, minigames, duels, a dungeon, server events, and a shop game that runs right inside discord (a discord activity). it's made and run by one person, which is me (melodistboko), as a hobby.

it's a fan project, and it's free

seam is an unofficial fan project, so it's not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by toby fox, the deltarune team, fangamer or materia music publishing. deltarune and its characters, art, sound and music all belong to toby fox, and seam uses them in the spirit of the official fan content policy. the item and badge art is fan art by valee (valee_valee), and the full credits are in /credits.

seam is free, so there's no ads, no paid features, no premium, nothing for sale, and no way to pay for perks, and if someone offers to sell you seam coins or items or perks, that's not me. if the rights holders ever ask, i can switch the deltarune art and music off for the whole bot at once, and seam keeps working without them.

discord's rules still apply

you still have to follow discord's terms of service and community guidelines while using seam, and that includes being old enough for discord where you live.

coins and items aren't real money

seam's coins (D$, or whatever your server calls them), items, badges, passport rewards and everything else in seam are just for fun, so they have no money value, you can't buy or sell them for real money, and you can't cash them out. please don't trade seam coins or items for real money, gift cards, nitro or anything outside seam, because people or servers that do can get blocked.

every server has its own separate economy, so coins and items in one server don't exist in another, except for a few global badges that i hand out myself. server managers run their server's economy, so they can add or take away coins and items, change prices and rewards, and start or cancel events, and i'm not responsible for how a server's managers run things.

play fair

please don't use bots, scripts, macros or alt accounts to earn, claim prizes, win games, farm chat rewards or redeem referral codes, and don't abuse bugs to make coins or items. if you find a bug, tell me in my discord or at [email protected], because reporting it is really appreciated but abusing it is not. don't spam to earn (seam ignores really short messages anyway), don't try to break or overload or attack seam, its shop game or its server, and don't use seam to harass anyone.

if someone breaks these, i can undo what they got, reset their data in a server, or block them (or a whole server) from using seam, and server managers can also fix coins and items in their own server.

for server managers

you pick which features are on in your server and how they're set up in /settings. chat earning stays off until you pick earning channels and press activate earning, minigames only run in the channels you pick, and a bunch of other stuff (like duels) starts off. you're responsible for the rewards and events you set up and for how you use the admin tools. you can export your server's seam data from /settings > data, and if you remove seam from your server its data gets deleted 30 days later (the privacy policy has all the details on that).

the shop game

the shop game uses the same coins, items and stock as /shop in whatever server you open it in, it signs you in with discord and checks that you're actually in that server, and the same rules apply to it as to the rest of seam.

no guarantees

seam is a hobby project and it's provided "as is", so it might be down or slow or changed or reset at any time, and features can get added or removed. i try really hard not to lose anyone's stuff (there's daily backups and i'm careful with updates), but i can't promise nothing will ever go wrong. as far as the law allows, i'm not liable for any loss from using seam or not being able to use it, and that includes lost coins or items.

stopping

you can stop using seam whenever you want and ask for your data to be deleted (the privacy policy explains how), and i can stop running seam, or block a user or server that breaks these terms, at any time.

changes

if these terms change, the new version goes up here with a new "last updated" date and big changes get announced in my discord, and if you keep using seam after a change that means you're ok with the new terms.
