privacy policy

this is everything the ping4utdr bot saves, why it saves it, and how to get it removed. the short version is that it keeps the discord ids it needs to work, it never saves what your messages say, it never sells or shares your data for ads, and it deletes your data whenever you ask.

what it saves about you

when you use a command, ping the bot or press one of its buttons, it saves your discord user id, because it needs that for the thing you used to work and so limits and bans can actually apply. when it's used in a server it also saves the server, channel and message ids, so it answers in the right place, remembers that server's settings, and can react to or credit the message a link came from.

if you submit a link, it saves the link so the mods can review it, along with who sent it and from which server. if you use ⭐ save, albums, follows or /p4ud prefs, it saves those so it can show you your favorites and albums, send you your daily follow dm and remember your settings. if you report a post it saves the report, with the reason and any note you wrote, so the mods can look at it, and if you play /p4ud guess it saves your score for the server's leaderboard.

if you set up the phone shortcut, your token is only saved as a one-way hash, so nobody (me included) can read it back. it also saves each server's settings when the admins change them, so the bot works the way that server wants, and moderation records when mods do something, like who reviewed a post and bans (the user id, the reason and who banned them) so a ban actually sticks.

messages

the bot only reads a message when it mentions the bot, or if a server turned on art channels, when it gets posted in one of the channels that server picked, and it only does that to find art links. it doesn't save what the message says at all. it keeps the links it finds, and for ao3 fic links it also keeps the title, author and summary from discord's link preview.

art and artist info

the bot collects undertale and deltarune fan art that was posted publicly on x (through twitterapi.io), bluesky, tumblr and youtube, using their public apis. for each post it saves the link, the caption, the like count, a copy of the image, and the artist's public handle, display name, profile link and account id, plus any support links like ko-fi or patreon from their public bio so fans can support them.

every image gets checked for adult content by a checker that runs on the bot's own server, so the images are never sent off to some outside service for that. artists can take all their work out and keep it out for good with /p4ud optout or by contacting me, and /p4ud myart shows everything the bot has from an account.

who else sees anything

discord does, since it's what delivers everything the bot sends, and the bot's mods see submissions and reports, including who sent them. the sites the bot reads from (twitterapi.io, bluesky, tumblr and youtube) get the links, account names and search words the bot looks up, but they never get any of your discord info. approved art can be seen by anyone, in discord and on the web if the public web gallery is on, and it's always credited to the artist.

your data is never sold, never used for ads and never used to track you, and the bot doesn't have any analytics.

keeping and deleting it

your data is kept while the bot is running, on a private server, and removed when you ask. you can remove your own favorites, albums and follows whenever you want, and if you want everything the bot has tied to your discord account gone, just contact me and i'll delete it within 30 days. ban records are kept though, so a ban stays a ban. if you remove the bot from a server it stops collecting anything there, and if you want that server's settings deleted too just ask.

security

the bot's data lives on a private server that only i can get into. the api keys and the bot token are kept out of the database, and phone tokens are only saved as hashes. nothing is ever perfectly secure, but the bot only keeps what its features actually need.

age

the bot is for people who are old enough to use discord under its terms of service, and it's not meant for, and doesn't knowingly collect data from, anyone under discord's minimum age.

changes

this might get updated, and the date at the top always shows the latest version. using the bot is also covered by the terms of service.
